I played it many times.
The best method is :
1- Stay in the same place you started the mission at ""Full Stop"".
2- Aim your torps and fire (a salvo, 0 degree spread), yes, from long long long distance.
3- Slowly get her deep, the deeper, the best. You do not want to attrack attention until your torpedoes explode.
