Retiree catches notorious ‘testicle-eating’ fish in New Jersey lake

Quote:
A retired bus driver caught a notorious testicle-eating fish native to the Amazon River while fishing in a New Jersey lake.
Tom Boylan, 77, he caught the 10-inch Pacu fish, which has large teeth with dulled points that resemble human teeth, while angling at a lake in Passaic’s Third Ward Veterans Memorial Park.

The fisherman took the strange catch to a nearby pet supply store to ask what it might be.

The store’s manager said he called the pacu fish “tank busters” because they grow so large – up 3 feet long and about 44 pounds.
The fish can live for up to 20 years, as well.

They’re less fierce than piranhas, but pacu fish were slapped with the reputation for biting the genitals of male humans in a joking comment by a Danish fish expert after the species was found swimming there.
