They had a special news report on this on 60 minutes a CBS show several weeks ago saying that this had never been done before and how an international team of divers was used.
They said the operation so far had cost over $800 million dollars just to salvage the ship. You can build a new cruise ship for $700 million dollars or so.
This must have been a labor of love paid by the insurance company for the cruise line to get it out of that harbor in Italy
