I've just got home from checking out Round 10 of the World Rally Championship was held this weekend in my home state about 6 hours drive north of Sydney of what is called the Coffs Coast near Coffs Harbour, home of the Big Banana:
Me and two mates took a road trip up there on Thursday to catch the first night stage which was a Super Special Stage at Brelsford park, normally a small country town cricket oval. The lighting was honestly really rubbish for photography and this was the only one that was even close to what I'd consider a photo. (Note I didn't say a good photo). Everything else was just too dark or too blurry to be looked at and is now in my digital dustbin.
Despite the night photography, not being a huge success I certainly enjoyed the driving. Some very close racing and a little bit of nice sideways action to kick the weekend off.
The first daylight stages were held in the forests to the west of a small coastal town called Urunga.
Local lad Nathan Quinn was mixing it up with the international stars and did OK to make 9th overall.
I'll post some more pics when I finish sorting through the 1000 odd that I took. And just for Jim I thought I'd fire up the Quattro Bolly!
Hope these are up to snuff HBB.
