My wife has several pair of those. I always enjoyed the balls during events and the fun of working through the layers later...
Lang is an amazing actor, more of a stage actor, but a great historian in his own right.
One thing they're supposed to be pushing for is more reality. Maybe you noticed, but in Gettysburg and G&G's there is no battle gore The only gore really was after battle and minor. A lot of that stemmed because the reenactors furnished their own uniforms and they're expensive. They did a lil better with the fake beards in G&G, but supposed to have that corrected, in Gettysburg it was terrible. The issue with fat reenactors was also being talked about.
They have some great historians advising, such as Eric Wittenberg, he can be an ass and rude, but knows his stuff.
So yes, we should see some gore, cussing, but don't expect Deadwood. Who wouldn't want to see Sara Evans naked, but don't expect any nudity.
