I got bit by a recluse in the 90's pressure washing a old wood roof, least told that by the hospital. I thought a bee had got under my shirt, felt a bite on my stomach and just smashed it and went back to work. By that night I had a mild fever and the spot had a small red dot with a white circle around it. The next morning the spot was very swollen, puss filled, with a large white circle, by the end of that day I was sick, so went to hospital. He drained it and put me on meds, said if I waited much longer that white spot was dying tissue and would all had to been cut out. In fact, a few weeks late, the white went black and had some of it removed.

The worse bug bite I've ever had as far as pain was a caterpillar on the neck, think it was called a saddleback.
