You are more than likely mistaking a common house spider for a Brown Recluse though not to say that if you really searched in the typical house you would not find one but you would never have a large number.
I would look the two up online and if you really do have lots of Brown Recluses you need to get your parents to call an exterminator.It will be much cheaper than the bill for a bite from one which any of your pets may or may not survive.

I'm not a spider expert so I probably do mistakenly ID them for different kinds.
Did some more research...
Brown Recluses have found their way into my basement...but not as much as the other, more common types. I haven't seen any in a while. I used to see similar spiders dead at the bottom of old boxes...but come to think of it, we did bring in an exterminator a few years back. Haven't seen too many inside since then.
There's usually at least one Black Widow per summer on my deck though.
One thing I like about spiders though, is other people's reaction to them. It's hilarious when you suddenly find out that somebody is deathly afraid of spiders even though the one in your hand is plastic.
