I assume you are trying to attack multiple targets in a convoy. My approach to this problem is to always set up for a 90 degree attack- all the targets in the convoy should be on the same heading at the same speed, both of which are easy enough to work out. Range will be irrelevant. Just open your tube, point the periscope at the ship you want and fire. Open the next tube, aim at a target and fire. Try and keep the gyro angle as close to zero as you can i.e. the torpedo goes straight ahead. So if the ship is approaching from your left at seven knots fire when it reaches the 350 mark and the ship and torpedo should meet somewhere on the 000 bearing. Not always possible , but that`s the ideal.

In my experience it is best not to spray your torpedoes all over the convoy; a single hit rarely seems to stop a big ship or even slow it down. I think it`s best to pick out a couple of the biggest targets and let them have a couple each, but having said that, I will always target a smaller ship that`s close rather than risk a shot on a big ship at long range. Anyway it`s your choice; you may be a better shot than me.

I also head straight for the bottom immediately the last tube has been fired. Hopefully, I will be about 100 meters down by the time the first torpedo strikes.

Hope this helps.
