Alas, Adm. Halsey did not have all his "I"s dotted as he chased the Japanese carriers. Fortuntely, Rear Adm. Oldendorf, with Adm Kincaid's foresight, had his "T"s crossed at the Suragao Strait, the last major use of the classic maneuver.
