They picked up Matt as soon as the Chiefs signed Alex Smith. And from what I saw on the local sports show, Ponder is getting a bit better, but still making the same mistakes he made last year. He hasn't figured out how to throw off his back foot yet. One nice thing about Matt in the preseason game against Houston, I think that was the first time a Vikes quarterback has thrown for over 200 yards in a game in at least a few years anyway!
