And the tutorials just show how to modify the files not how to export them! :-(

Easy:
- Go to the 'Bones' tab, and make sure that the 'Show' checkbox ('Bones' group) is unchecked.
- Go to the 'Meshes' tab.
- In the meshes tree click on the first mesh (below the name of the model).
- Click on the 'Export' button, this will bring a menu with various preferences and exporting options.
- When done, click again on the 'Export' button. This will bring another pop-up window, asking you wether to export in the default or in a custom path.
- After a few seconds you should get a message saying that the exporting process was successful.
- SH units are made of variuos meshes assembled together. Repeat the steps from 3 to 6 for all the meshes in the meshes tree which are part of the visible model. Visible meshes are checked by default (a mesh needs to be checked for being exported). For your purposed you can probably ignore the unchecked meshes which are invisible reflection models, damage models, and equipment/crew linking bones.
