I clicked on the 'periscope depth' button and it crashes. All other commands work. Just the periscope depth doesn't. Anyone have an idea why?

Since you said in your earlier statement that "problem with Parts Magui and thought I needed to reload the game." You said you loaded the mod again, not
reinstalled it. I am suspecting something may be corrupt from your previous problem. Possibly this "Parts Magui and patch" mod needs to be deleted completely from your modlist. If using JSGME and you disable all your mods, nothing should be left behind in "Your drive letter:\Silent Hunter 5\MODS\!BACKUP folder."
Reinstall "Parts Magui and patch" from a saved backup file or re-downloaded, etc. and entered properly again into the mods folder. Then see what happens with periscope depth.
The rest below maybe a mute point if the above situation solves it.
I do not use "Parts Magui and patch". I speculate it has some interface similar to New Uis for TDC (which I use) where you click on an icon as in the the Chief Engineer- Periscope Depth button? New UIs uses a periscope depth button, no chief engineer.
We need your mods list for starters to decipher what is overriding or causing a conflict in your commands.cfg files relating to the persiscope depth command. I would suspect that the periscope depth command is used for another command, too.
Can you do a search for commands. cfg in the mods folder. What mods from your modlist has a commands.cfg file?
(I make my own commands.cfg file for voice recognition. Ironically, in my situation, some commands interfere with New UIs for TDC since I see the left toolbars flash briefly when pressing some key command I created. The keyboard command never crashes my game. One of TDW latest versions of New UIs for TDC has a hotkeys_report.txt option now, perhaps that information will help others someday, too.)
