It is, and it isn't. Rumor has it that this fight between TEST and Goons was preceded by one of TEST's directors defecting and making off with the entire contents of the corporate hangar (worth at least several thousand dollars in real-life money). That kind of thing happens frequently, but not necessarily in that magnitude. The corp that I was in during my time with TEST would scam certain prospective members. There were official recruiters, and talking to them would entail legitimate recruitment, but there were also guys that would claim to be recruiters. Those guys would go through the process, get the mark to send over some ships and ISK (in-game currency) and then invite them down to Fountain. Of course, we would be waiting to gank them when they arrived.

The actual gameplay, however, is very much spreadsheets in space. I was even more boring. My primary job was CovOps, and while that sounds sexy, the reality is that most of my time was spent counting the number of capital ships jumping in and out of the bridge hubs.
