Business started changing when they took the human element out of the balance sheet, and only looked at the dollars and cents. There used to be an intangible element called good will factored in to the financial statements but, since a dollar value can not be placed on it, it went by the wayside. That is when employees went from the asset side, to the liability side of the ledger sheet.
