Thanks, Jim. I've come to the conclusion that SHIII isn't compatible with Windows 8. Everything worked perfectly for me on Windows 7, but with 8, the game won't run for me. Not on its own, and not with GWX or Commander. It was working, but now it isn't....even after an uninstall and reinstall. So I'm going to leave it for now.
