Yes, I was referring to nature of debates concerning controversial issues, not Jim. I have seen a few threads get locked up because it gets heated, shutting down a debate helps no one, that was the point of op.

I've seen threads locked down over my time here.
Usually, it's a good thing when threads are locked down during a heated discussion.
