Didn't the Americans do a similar "Stonehenge" experiment, documented in a 1984 movie "The Philadelphia Experiment"? I don't remember much, saw it when I was a kid, but I remember the end of the movie the ship reappeared with men half in the bulkheads and stuff. Supposedly these were based on actual secret events in 1943.
