Yes the offical Boeing start sequence is 1,2,3,4 however this was modified by USAF (or USAAF) to 3,4,1,2 because in the B-17 two out of the three batteries were beside engine 3. So by starting 3 it makes it easier on the batteries with less travel for the current, less heat, and less resistance.
