Point being, if a time machine were to be invented we can only go to the future if I understand this correctly?

If a string connected that went both ways...wouldn't it work the same?

Something like this:

Two people in the same universe.

Exactly one year apart.

One travels back and the other travels forward and they meet in the middle...in...oh...say St. Louis underneath the Gateway Arch. (Appropriate enough)

If what you say is being interpreted correctly, the person in the future who traveled back would be underneath the arch....but couldn't be there at the exact location-time as the person from the past...

And this is assuming that no events have been changed by other time travelers.... Maybe I'm thinking too much again.


Another question:

How the hell do you people know so much about something that isn't possible?
