As I understand it, SH4 works perfectly well on windows 8, just ensure that you have the game in its own seperate folder rather than in C: Program files, eg save it to C:Silent Hunter 4 or whatever you wish to name it.
At least I certainly hope that it works well, I'm on the brink of investing in a new pc that has Windows 8 installed!
