It is not clear whether the 4GB Patch will work with the Steam game or not. There is no inherent reason to expect that it would. The V16B1-Patch-Kit by h.sie WILL work with Steam and it includes a (different) 4GB patch. Desertstriker made a vid showing how to use h.sie's patcher with the Steam game: Since this definitely works and the 4GB Patch may not, you might want to just use the h.sie patcher. You can disable every other patch except the 4GB fix if you don't want them.
