Way back when I first got the game and had a ton of trouble getting it to run on my desktop, I loaded it on my laptop in an attempt to be able to play the game while fixing the other problem(s).
I've got an HP Pavilion zt3010us. It's about two years old. Game runs fine, except for the mouse giving me some grief at the higher time compressions. I'm not sure what the resolution is set at. I just loaded it - and played.
