^ Me. My father once told me about that, and i recently learned about today's Meth in a seminar. German pilots in WW2 used it to some extent, and some too much of it. Then there was Vietnam. The US fliers of today also have 'official' drugs.
There is also the less health-damaging 'flyer's chocolate' Schoka-Cola, made in 1935:
