I think the exploit is when you run out of fuel you can still recharge (you havent run out of fuel).
Ive never used it though, never ever ran out of fuel once. I always ensure i have enough to get there and back with about a 50% fuel reserve (for chasing stuff). and i usualy return to port at all full cause i usualy have more then enough to get back (viib) at that speed and 20% extra
