As has been said, the best security in the world is no guarantee, just as all the guns and expertise are no guarantee against a dedicated assassin.
I had a friend once point out that a burglar came into his home in the middle of the night, opening the front door faster than he could with his key. I realize that anyone could open my door with ease, which is why I always lock the screen door before I go to bed, and use a sliding bolt lock. They won't keep anyone out, but they will make a lot of noise coming in, and that's a pretty good alarm in itself. If I'm not home? I'll just have to hope the insurance covers everything, but if I'm not there it doesn't bother me.
