Went over tonight to get some more unpacking done in the kitchen. Here is my dishwasher. It is running. Notice there are no suds coming out of it.

I know you're all terribly disappointed, honestly I did my best to recreate Sunday's faux pax but I don't know what happened. As an experiment I put a whole "pod" of the premeasured stuff in there again and fired it up and... nothing. All the suds stayed in the machine this time. Sorry! I even put towels down in front of it just in case for about the first half hour.

Maybe I screwed up something the first time since I basically didn't know what I was doing, or maybe there was some residual detergent in there from when the previous owner and/or agent ran it after it was fixed. Don't know.

Of course I started a second load after the one that was running when I took the picture, and left when it was about a half hour into it... so who knows what I'll find when I get back there. It could be a troll dishwasher that only overflows when you're not standing there watching it.

Also, the current state of my office:

You'll notice that I finally remembered to take a lamp over there - we had one in the lounge at the office that wasn't even plugged in and never gets used, so my boss suggested I just take the shade off and use that until I get some other lighting in place.

Didn't get anything put together as by the time I finished unpacking all the kitchen stuff and casting nervous glances at the dishwasher, it was getting on to dinnertime and I was feeling a very distinct rumbly in my tumbly. Tomorrow I'm not going to haul any more stuff over there, I'm going to concentrate on getting started on the office furniture and sorting out all the empty boxes and packing material that is scattered around.

Another good thing, the ceiling along one wall in the office is dropped down for about a foot out from the wall, I assume that's for the ductwork for the heating and cooling. Well, I want to put bookcases there and I was worried about them fitting but I measured and the ones I want to get eventually will fit under the drop down with an inch or two of clearance.

Now I just got to get all the stuff off the floor and put together so I can start hauling some books over there and get those boxes out of my apartment.
