Well i wasn't running in silent mode and i wasn't recharging batteries (they were k.o) ... i'm using Frontflotille 2.0 mod ...
for the ranks ... well i done almost 40 missions with a renow of 10.000 ...i really dunno why i don't increase rank! Do you reached a rank up to LT.Sr ?
