I don't think I've ever had one
that quick but when I do get retired it's always an unpleasant surprise and too soon compared to historical careers. I usually switch retirement and crew transfers off, then do them all manually myself.
If that was real life you'd be gutted if you were taken off the boat at Oberleutnant - once a commander transferred out of frontline duty promotion ground to a halt (same in the RN today....
) and Kapitänleutnant was the point where pension and pay took a step up.
