Con, if you're using JSGME, then you can plug in tested and working mod lists like Sober's and be sure of getting everything in the correct order. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=3492
It's a .mep file ready to use. Just unzip it to your Mods folder and use the JSGME Load mod profile task. Or you can copy and paste any of a number of posted mod lists from this forum, paste them into a blank Notepad file and save them to your mods folder as <whatever>.mep and you're good to go. Or you can rassle your own mod list together and when you have it right, use the JSGME Save mod profile task to make sure you only ever have to do it once. I use 80+ mods, and I would go crazy (crazier?) if I had to get the order right every time.

Some mods, like New_UIs and the Patcher, both by TDW, require some interaction. although New_UIs can be used out of the box. Both are more involved to install than conventional mods, but they add hugely to the game, and there are excellent tutorials and guides around to help you set them up. And they are worth every bit of the effort!

That said, SH5 may not be your cuppa. It's more structured and less open-ended than previous SH titles. If you are a logn-time subsim player, you really should give it a fair trial, though - and a fair trial would be NOT in its stock form!

But if you're just frustrated by the number and complexity of the mods, don't despair! Help - in several forms - is available. And it's a gorgeous and richly detailed product when you finish.
