It seems that Sharon's situation could be improved with an operation that might have been critical, but was succesfull nevertheles. It doesn't seem to be a situation yet in which he is being kept alive artificially witjout any hope of improvement.
Under such circumstances doctors have the right if not the duty to keep doing their best.
Of course we would have to have professional insight in his medical condition to be certain about all this, but up till now the doctors have been pretty open about his situation.
