Welcome aboard!
A&A is a great game, never tried the '42 version but I've played the original, the revised remake, and now I own the massive 1940 edition that I believe was a Limited Edition thing and which takes up our entire pool table .

I like more advanced games, too, such as Hearts of Iron III for the PC, but I still love A&A to death even if it isn't the deepest game out there (it's basically Risk with a money economy and a specter of unit types ).

It's been adapted for online play. I don't remember the web site, but you'll probably find it if you go to Avalonhill.com and browse through the forums. It's on some web site that hosts various board games that have been "ported" into browser games.
