I just finished watching an interesting movie:
From the Manger to the Cross, a silent movie made in 1912.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0002199/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2
It's a pretty good movie considering when it was released. At 82 minutes it qualifies as feature-length. The scenes are presented as tableaux; there is an introduction card with an explanation and the Gospel reference, then the whole scene is played out with no dialogue cards. My only complaint would be the music. One IMDB reviewer talks about the 1994 organ score. The version they showed on Amazon had a bouncy orchestra score that hardly fit the proceedings.
Not perfect by a long shot, and not nearly as good as the 1927 silent
King of Kings, but I don't consider my hour and twenty-two minutes wasted.
