Skip, do you have any other automation scripts installed? I tried to use two: Krauter's and AvM's. They both use an obsolete syntax that New_UIs 7.1 and 7.2 have trouble recognizing. The AvM scripts have been updated by Trevally, get the latest version here:

I have made some of my own scripts (copying shamelessly from, and
with thanks to, Trevally) and found that the least syntax error in a script (mine, all mine!) will cause the automation page to have "funnies" when displaying available scripts. Sometimes some will show, other times not. Sometime I click on a category and it is "empty". Then I immediately click again, and the sub-categories appear. Unpredictable errors. Once you fix the syntax problem or simply uninstall the out-of-date packages, the problems go away. But errors in any script can cause the whole automation page to malfunction in non-fatal ways. Might be what you are seeing.
