The man was in the Navy and damn well knows the difference between the two weapons. Or at least he should know, but then again he was an airdale. And Arizona's gun laws are some of the most lax in the country, so what point did he prove? That he has the money to buy one at his whim? He was a Captain in the Navy and an astronaut, he would've passed a background check with flying colors. It's not like they're screening you for a top secret clearance. Whatever though.
