No. It doesn't work and it's not possible to fix it. That's why SH3 Commander was created in the first place.
It could be claimed that I don't know what I'm talking about, but my answer is based on extensive conversations with Jaesen Jones during our work together on Ship Names, and he certainly did seem to know what he was talking about.
