No doubt about that.
It just seems that either this sort of stuff, i.e. conspiracy hue and cry / the end is upon us / our country is doomed / etc., is happening more often and is heard more loudly than in previous years (thanks to technology perhaps) or I'm just more aware of this sort of thing nowadays.
