Salac, you could simply pick out Cap'n Scurvy's range ring from OTC and make it into a separate mini-mod. I did that, because I wanted to use the range ring in my RFB campaign and OTC for RFB is WIP.
It's easy to do using WinMerge. Took me less than an evening, including all blunders and mistakes. It works great. Of course, as the Cap'n points out, that still doesn't give very good solutions since the TBT/scope views are hosed in several ways. But it's better than cursing the dark.
