Apparently, a sizeable meteorite has just exploded over the city of Chelyabinsk.

Only light injuries and a lot of blown-out windows though. No pieces of the meteorite found yet. They say it most likely exploded about 50km above ground, and came from a fragment of an asteroid that was expected to pass 28,000km from earth today (as reported here earlier:
