Oddly, when
The Next Generation was launched, short, leg revealing skirts were in the first one or two episodes and then later scrapped in favor of a sort of jump/pant-suit uniform. It may have had sometihng to do with the female cast members (particularly Marina Sirtis [Deanna Troi]) calling the shorter uniforms the "cheerleaders in space" look...
