I'll give it a go and hope I don't mess things up... would like to play this game instead of having to keep tweaking and recovering form crashes.

Good point on the data folder backup

, made a snapshot with JSGME at first install after 1.5 and all is fine, would I had any problems I'd've reinstalled the game and copied the data folder directly.
