Okay. This difference is probably due to your in game gamma settings

Yep, in general RealEnv and DynEnv's nights are a lot darker than in vanilla. It is a matter of taste, but most players thought that stock game's bright nights (and the possibility to spot ships during moonless nights) were quite unrealistic. Nonetheless, at medium-close range and during clear nights, it should still be possible to see ship's silhouettes against the moon
