Torpedo probably bounced because your too close (minimum arm distance is 250-300) or you hit the bottom curve of the hull (which is too much of an angle for the torp)

Also keep in mind destroyers will try to evade (and they do it very well as they are small, fairly agile and fast) any torpedoes they see.

As for the torpedo going behind you probably either forgot to switch the tdc back to tracking (switching it back so you cant alter speed etc) your aob is reversed (this will cause the tdc to think the ship is going the other way). Forgot to open the tube first before shooting (this realy throws off your accuracy as the torpedo uses the settings when you pressed fire, but is held back a few seconds while the tube opens)


Also torpedoes tend to hit in front or to the rear of a ship if you fire early when the torpedo bearing isnt 000 or 180 (for rear) due to the torpedo having to turn to get on course.
