Mr. Myers you said: "He was my best friend and I am the luckiest 21-year-old in the world to call him my father." My mother was that way for me when she died. But this tragedy of your is a total surprise and you are so young. Its going to hurt guy and if you feel the urge to blubber - do it.

Try not to sleep in a room alone - If you have brothers or sisters near make one sleep in the same room as yourself, and do so for them. At least for a week. Be strong in public, but shed tears freely with those who loved your father and who shed tears.

Avoid all anger during this time - no matter what the accident report is.
Irrespective of your present beliefs - whatever they are - I can assure you that your father is not far from you. When I was very near death I learned that there is really only one important thing in life for us humans - that is our loved ones: family and friends and the people who need us.
