I've read similar accounts of what I'm about to describe and thought I'd add mine.
May of 1943: I finally crossed the path of a convoy instead of a flock of B-24's... I attacked, reloaded and attacked again. When the froth settled, I counted 5 merchants sunk... and got credit for only 4! That's 5 of those little red broken ships on the map and only 4 recorded in my log. Grrr!
Now for better story... A few patrols ago, I was following the sound of a merchant on my hydrophone when all of the sudden the sound disappeared and a black broken ship symbol appeared on my chart. I figured something else sunk the merchant and moved on. Later, on the same patrol and after sinking several other ships, I attacked a merchant and watched the sucker sink. Another black icon and no credit!
Not a whine, just a couple of "strange reports."
I'm running V1.4b with just the mod that helps with fatique.
