That's the main reason I don't use manual targeting (laziness is the other). I feel like the auto targeting is more realistic because the captain didn't do it by himself. I do wish that the developers did put in the ability to use manual while in auto targeting mode. When I do fire, I don't lock on, I like to use a spread.
