I've used the snapshots for awhile and they seem to be pretty stable as far as I can tell. Don't know what is still missing, a lot of the features seem to be in.

Can't check atm, at school, being busy... stupid Netflix not working here.

EDIT: List of chunk related stuff that is currently included in the pre-release:

-Bats
-Swamp Huts & Witches to live in them
-New Slime Spawning (swamps)
-Wither Skeletons (Nether Fortress)
-Carrots & Potatoes (Villages & Jungles)

Think that covers all the planned stuff for 1.4(?)
