You are assuming that the Iraqi insurgents are devote Muslims. That is the chink in the armor.

The Iraqi insurgency is "only" commanded by the religious crazies. The people that fight for them are average joes who don't have a job and need to feed their family. The insurgency pays American dollars I hear. This is from a foreign policy professional who's been to Iraq several times.
