The old boats never had fish that would go as deep as an L.A or Virginia class could go. I still doubt the validity of Nukes being quieter than electric motors on the old boats. Sure the listening devices are more advanced so one might hear the the boat itself making noise but I still doubt a nuke could hear the motors at 1/3 ahead at 600 feet. Since the newer boats have fish that have active as well as passive listening I doubt an old boat could avoid them unless they used the subterrean or bottomed out if it was shallow enough and an active fish was used. The newer boats could also out run the old fish.

While newer boat statistics are 800+ feet and 32 kts submerged the L.A. could go 2000+ and 60 mph on a breech so I am sure the Virginia class is even better.

I have never seen any mods for what your asking.
