How's this for a conspiracy theory?
Pakistan's Foreign Minister makes a surprise visit to the White House, meets behind closed doors with administration and Pentagon officials, and flies home.
A couple weeks later, the raid goes down, "without Pakistan's knowledge or permission".
As a former ISI operative told me on my recent travels, paraphrasing as my Urdu sux,
"Does your country really think the world's most wanted terrorist, decades on the run, with tons of opsec experience, stayed in one place for that long, with no guards around him?"
I had to admit, I do not. I'm still convinced Bin Laden died in Tora Bora.
When I told him, he just smiled, nodded and poured us another cup of tea.
