Yep, premising that I am not paid by Ubisoft to minimize their mistakes,
...modding this game is like having to craft your toy before being actually able to play with it, as opposed to go buying a plastic made, ready to use game that you will get tired of after a few hours.
Having to "prepare" it, induces you to read, to think, to dream of it as you would like it to be. You learn to have patience and to appreciate any minimal detail, knowing that it costed many hours of hard job, by you and by many more people.
Really enjoying it is an award for the ones who deserved it not, with all the due respect, for the fastfood lovers.
